Hey i’m emily
Owner, Educator and Nail Technician
Ever since I was 8, I have always have had a passion for nails and love and appreciation for independent Nail Technicians!
When I was 11, my love for nails truly flourished. I found myself on youtube for hours watching nail tutorials (mainly from cute polish lol) then practicing my own press on nails from Kmart. I quickly became the family nail tech, painting my cousins nails where we would then dream about having our own nail salon one day.
After 2 years of um-ming an uh-ring, 2021 I finally found a nail course. During lockdown I spent hours practising on myself then finally after restrictions lifted, I started off doing family and friends nails from home charging $30 for 3 hours of work. Then moved into the small hallway space at Glam Theory, worked my way up to a beauty room and now we have a gorgeous new space in the newly renovated Glam Theory.
I’m a Nail Tech turned educator who’s obsessed with creating clean, sleek nails. Matcha in one hand and the e-file in the other, I founded Gel Genie and The Nail Matrix to help other nail techs feel confident behind the desk. I’m known for always being the biggest hype girl for my clients and students. When I’m not in the salon, you’ll usually find me out and about with my friends or hanging out with my chooks. At the end of the day, it all comes back to my mission: building beauty empires one nail at a time.

Hi, I’m Lauren! I started my nail journey in late 2022 and instantly fell in love with the creativity that comes with nail art. It’s my favourite way to bring a little personality and fun into beauty. Alongside nails, I’m also a makeup artist, so being creative with colour and design has always been my happy place.
In November 2024, I joined the Gel Genie team and it’s been such an exciting step in my career. I love being able to connect with clients, make them feel amazing, and also grow alongside such a supportive team.
When I’m not in the salon, you’ll usually find me sipping on a hot honey tea (my go-to drink), spending my weekends with friends and family, or relaxing with a good TV show or movie. I also have a big love for baking, so if I’m not covered in nail dust, I’m probably covered in flour! I can’t wait to meet you in the salon and create some beautiful nails together.
